About Us
Before you read this, think about what makes you want to go to trivia. Is it the opportunity to show off that you know a bunch of ‘trivial’ information? Probably not. I would wager that it’s because you want to find something fun to do with people you want to spend time with… Or don’t want to spend time with, which just means it’s all the more important that the time be fun.
I started hosting trivia a few years ago and immediately realized that the best part of it had absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you know the answers (which is good news for many of us), but rather that it brings people together around a common event and cause, and does so in a fun and often silly fashion. My favorite moments are almost universally ones where nonsense happened. A missed question turns into a shocking revelation that Steve has never actually watched Star Wars. A song request from Vera leads to a discovery of a weird new band. Some playful ribbing from the host (often OF the host) leads to new friendships that go well beyond a single interaction.
It might surprise you that I care so deeply about trivia, but I genuinely do. I firmly believe that one of the greatest struggles in modern society is simply finding and maintaining connections with one another. We spend so much time staring at screens - you and I are both literally doing it right now - and not talking with each other, playing with each other, laughing with each other. I’m personally passionate about making my trivia an event worth going to by making it an event that is enjoyable, and the way I do that is by bringing YOU to it. There will be fun questions, sure, and decent music, yeah, but none of it will be as good without you there as it will be WITH you there.
So bring it in and let’s have some fun.
